The City of Yellowknife plans to collect a levy of UP TO 4% on all short term accommodations. These funds will support the creation of a Destination Marketing Organization whose primary function will be to increase visitation to the City. The increase in visitation in turn, will help to grow the overall economy of the City. As a primary gateway to the rest of the NWT, the resultant spillover will help to boost tourism throughout the NWT.
